Human Rights Protection General Directorate
The Human Rights Protection General Directorate is in charge of the main axis of the Prison Ombudsman’s National Office. The main responsibility is the organization and development of actions linked to the protection and promotion of the human rights of persons deprived of their liberty in the scope of their application.
It also assists the Prison Ombudsman in the exercise and control of the operations of not only the Federal Penitentiary Service, but any place where a person deprived of his liberty is, for any reason, in Federal Jurisdiction.
This General Directorate takes direct contact with the Regional Delegates in matters of institutional competence.
